Flying Yankee Films began…
…in early 2019. It was made to create films. Simple as that. Our mission is to produce thought-provoking and entertaining work at a professional level quality. Our first project was For the Benefit of Mr. Winston, a short film about a songwriter with writer’s block that gets help from a mysterious stranger. It was selected at several film festivals such as the Big Apple Film Festival, the Chelsea Film Festival, the Flicker Rhode Island Film Festival, and won best song, honorable mention for best actor, and nominated for best screenplay at the LA Film Awards. The next was The Edge of Town. It’s about a young veteran that falls in with an erratic middle aged vigilante to find a new purpose in life. The short film was selected by Omeleto, the Queen’s World Film Festival, the Tokyo Lift-Off Film Festival, won best director at the LA Film Awards, and was nominated for best director at the Lee Strasberg Film Festival. Donald McRonald is our newest short film, and is in post-production. It’s about a clown fast food mascot named Donald McRonald that gets pulled over for speeding, but won’t break character to reveal his real identity so he won’t break the strict rules there are to be Donald.
